This
place is magical.
In
the sixties the Vallejo was quite the hangout. Jean
Varda, a painter, and Alan Watts, Zen Buddist philosopher,
lived aboard. Along with them were the "dancing girls."
An old ferryboat moored in Sausalito, the SS Vallejo
has transformed lives, but as of late has become a charming,
quaint, dilapitated fleabag.
Her
current state of ruin is being battled by a few crazy
guys, one of which hopes to restore her to working order.
This
website is an attempt to tell some of the Vallejo's
past and present.
