| Paul
LeClerc |
| Poet, Photographer, and Sausalito Historyophile,
Paul LeClerc is a Vallejo Muse. His photo-documentation of the
early days, in the beginning of the Vallejo's re-construction
period, inspired this website. Paul has not only shared his
photographic elegance but has also graciously shared some of
his poetry with our efforts, and we thank him whole heartily.

SPRING
TEASER
The quay's lilting charm.
Quiescitude with a jingle. Aquamarine tints, ripple
'neath the masts.
Air breathing in rushes.
The
palm trees are not warm yet.
Imports, they seem, by the harbor's edge.
The bite of wind chewing at
those serrated fronds, corn yellow
under green.
These
trunks with tassels.
Like hulls with adorning rigs.
And the mountains' saddleback outline
of evaporant mists.

DECEMBER
TIDE
Nautical moments.
The stir of freshets', white-capped froth.
Rust red, golden gate's mouth,
as the tide swirls outward. Sucked
into ocean's mad-cap furl.
Mud chanelled outward,
thru the Bay's sailed esophagus.
Sifting sands along the beach's lush recline.
Cliff House voyeurs.
Passing eyes. Drinks along the bluff.
A heady sunshine, exposing
the deep.
